About us…

Panama Andy’s is based in New York City, with chapters in Brooklyn and Gorgona, Panama.

The Gorgona chapter began in 2017 as a small rescue focused mainly on stray dogs, but has expanded significantly in its first five years, and now includes many rescued cats. In addition to providing food and shelter to stray dogs and cats, our dedicated staff and volunteers work with the community to provide veterinary care and food to local families with financial needs. To date we have rescued dozens of strays, found forever homes for many of them, and helped facilitate the spaying and neutering of hundreds more.

The Brooklyn chapter is our newest endeavor. Launched in early 2020, it is focused on serving the feral cat population of Brooklyn and the surrounding areas. In a short period of time we have rescued over 20 cats and kittens, and found forever homes for many of them. We built several heated shelters on the property which is now home to a large feral cat colony, and hope to build many more shelters throughout the borough. Our primary focus will be cutting down on the feral cat population by engaging in a Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) program, which involves trapping feral cats, getting them spayed or neutered, then releasing them back into the neighborhood shelters we have built, where they will be fed and monitored. Any rescued kittens will receive veterinary care, food, shelter and will be put up for adoption.
